After all the initial excitement of your engagement starts to die down (or, at least, the initial shock has worn off) it’s time to start thinking about engagement photos. These pictures signify the start of the rest of your lives together, so it’s important to consider a few things when picking a location for the shoot.

Tracy & Eddie had a small, intimate ceremony with just close friends and family on the rooftop of Hotel Monaco. To kick off the day I photographed a bit of getting ready, followed by an emotional first look between them. Then we explored the hotel and the city for some great portraits. 

One thing’s for sure when it comes to your wedding day—the moment you see your significant other for the first time, all dressed up for the occasion, is bound to be a memorable one. Some couples are choosing this moment to happen before they walk down the aisle, while others are sticking with the more traditional route and waiting until the ceremony to see each other. There’s no right or wrong choice, but if you’re on the fence, here are a few pros and cons to having one.

Brittany & Sefako got married, but haven't had the opportunity to celebrate with friends and family, as they've been busy focusing on med school. Now that they are finishing up, the time has come to throw a party, and that means making some epic save-the-dates!

Casey and Fred got married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the White Barn. All their decor was rustic, ideal for their venue. Their puppy, dressed in a full tuxedo, completely stole the spotlight during their formal pictures. Keep scrolling to see why! How much adorable can be in one photo!?!

Nicole and Patrick had me tearing up only 30 minutes into photographing their getting ready. For their wedding video, they read out the letters they wrote to each other. When you listen to all that emotion, you can't help but feel connected to their love story.  

For Rachel's senior session, she wanted a mix of city and flowers. For that combination, there is no better place to go than Phipps and the North Shore! We started at Phipps and capture the gorgeous evening light.

Devin rocked this shoot. We went big, with smoke bombs, sunset photos, and night shots. We lucked out with amazing weather, and beautiful, golden-hour lighting that made the images really stand out.
