Terra & Andrew’s Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel & Epiphany Church Wedding

Classic Pittsburgh Moments & Terrible Towels

If you’re planning a downtown Pittsburgh wedding, Terra & Andrew’s day is full of the kind of iconic moments that make this city such a special place to get married.

A classic ceremony at Epiphany Church. Timeless portraits by Pittsburgh’s yellow bridges. A reception at the historic Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel overlooking the river.

And of course — a healthy number of Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towels making their appearance throughout the day.

Because if you’re a Steelers fan getting married in Pittsburgh… you have to lean in.

Getting Ready at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel

The Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel is one of my favorite downtown Pittsburgh wedding venues, especially for couples who want a mix of historic architecture and riverfront views.

The hotel sits right along the Allegheny River and offers some incredible getting-ready spaces — but the real star is the grand staircase.

If you’ve photographed or attended a wedding there, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

The sweeping staircase creates such an elegant backdrop for portraits, wedding party photos, and those quiet moments before the day really begins.

For Terra & Andrew, it was the perfect way to start their wedding day before heading to their ceremony.

A Classic Catholic Ceremony at Epiphany Church

Their ceremony took place at Epiphany Church, a beautiful Catholic church in Pittsburgh with soaring ceilings and timeless architecture.

Church ceremonies always carry a sense of tradition and gravity, and this one felt especially meaningful. Terra & Andrew exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends who clearly adore them.

The space itself photographs beautifully — dramatic arches, warm tones, and a quiet reverence that makes the moment feel even more powerful.

For couples planning a Catholic wedding in Pittsburgh, Epiphany Church offers that classic, sacred atmosphere that never goes out of style.

Iconic Pittsburgh Wedding Photos with the Yellow Bridges

No Steelers fans would skip this part.

After the ceremony, we made our way downtown for portraits featuring Pittsburgh’s iconic yellow bridges along the North Shore and riverfront.

The bright yellow steel against the skyline instantly gives you that unmistakable “this is Pittsburgh” feeling in photos.

These bridges have become one of the most recognizable backdrops for downtown Pittsburgh wedding portraits, and for good reason:

  • Clean architectural lines

  • Bold color that pops in photos

  • Incredible views of the skyline and rivers

Timeless. Classic. Very Pittsburgh, plus so many opportunities for iconic, meaningful photos.

As a Pittsburgh wedding photographer, I love helping couples build timelines that allow for both classic city portraits and relaxed, joyful moments with the people who matter most.

Terra & Andrew’s day was the perfect example of that balance — elegant, energetic, and unmistakably Pittsburgh.
