Kayleigh & Ryan’s Snowy Wedding at St. Peter Church & Children's Museum of Pittsburgh
A Winter Wedding Full of Candid Moments
Winter weddings in Pittsburgh can go one of two ways.
Either the snow politely stays away… or it shows up ready to fully commit.
For Kayleigh & Ryan’s wedding day, it absolutely committed.
What started as a cold, snowy Pittsburgh morning turned into some of the most magical winter wedding photos — the kind that feel straight out of a movie.
Ryan was thrilled.
Kayleigh was… respectfully tolerating the weather.
But together they powered through the cold and created some seriously stunning moments before warming up inside the Children’s Museum for the rest of their celebration.
A Classic Catholic Ceremony at St. Peter Church
Kayleigh & Ryan’s ceremony took place at St. Peter Church, a beautiful Catholic church in Pittsburgh right near their reception venue that offers the timeless feel many couples love for a traditional wedding ceremony.
Church weddings always carry a sense of history and meaning, and this ceremony felt especially heartfelt. Surrounded by family and close friends, Kayleigh & Ryan exchanged vows in a space filled with warmth — which was extra appreciated on a day when Pittsburgh decided to show off its winter weather.
For couples planning a Catholic wedding in Pittsburgh, churches like St. Peter provide that classic atmosphere that photographs beautifully and holds deep significance.
Snowy Wedding Portraits in Pittsburgh
When the snow started falling, we knew we had to take advantage of it — even if just for a few quick portraits.
And honestly? Totally worth it.
Snow has a way of transforming a wedding gallery. The soft white backdrop, the quiet atmosphere, the way snowflakes catch the light — it creates something incredibly romantic and cinematic.
Ryan could not have been happier about the weather.
Kayleigh braved the cold like an absolute champion.
We moved quickly, laughed a lot, and created some of those dreamy snowy Pittsburgh wedding photos that couples secretly hope for when planning a winter wedding.
Then we did the very smart thing and headed inside.
Warming Up at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
The reception took place at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh — one of the most fun and unique Pittsburgh wedding venues.
If you’ve ever been there, you know it’s not your typical reception space. The museum offers modern architecture, colorful installations, and playful spaces that make the entire celebration feel relaxed and lively.
After the snowy portraits earlier in the day, the warmth inside the museum felt especially perfect.
Guests explored the space, everyone embraced the interactive environment, and the celebration quickly turned into a dance floor full of energy.
It’s a venue that naturally encourages movement, laughter, and candid moments — which are some of my favorite things to photograph.
A Champagne Pop (With a Plot Twist)
Toward the end of the night, we stepped outside for one last celebratory moment: a champagne pop.
If you’ve never seen a wedding champagne pop photo, imagine excitement, chaos, and zero control over where the champagne actually goes.
Ryan opened the bottle.
Champagne sprayed everywhere.
And before anyone really knew what was happening, Ryan scooped Kayleigh up and threw her over his shoulder mid-celebration.
Completely unexpected. Completely hilarious. And honestly one of my favorite candid moments of the entire day.
Sometimes the best photos come from the moments you absolutely cannot plan.
Why Winter Weddings in Pittsburgh Are Worth It
